Chin Hin Group Ignites a New Era of Women’s Empowerment: ‘Her Journey’ Initiative Launched to Champion Working Women
August 8, 2025
Kuala Lumpur, 8 August 2025 – Chin Hin Group Berhad unveiled ‘Her Journey’, a transformative women’s empowerment initiative committed to creating a more inclusive and family-friendly workplace for women to thrive across the organisation. The launch, held at Menara Chin Hin, underscores the Group’s dedication to employee wellbeing and gender inclusivity.
‘Her Journey’ was conceived in view of national data from the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM), which reveal a decline in female workforce participation — especially among women aged 30 to 45, a critical stage when career aspirations often collide with family commitments.
This initiative takes a two-pronged approach to reshape the workplace landscape:
- Support and retain women employees by establishing robust workplace policies, mentorship programs, flexible work arrangements and daycare - tailored to the needs of women navigating both career and family responsibilities.
- Facilitate career comebacks by providing upskilling opportunities, networking sessions, and dedicated pathways for women returning to the workforce after a career break.
The launch event featured a panel discussion with distinguished speakers, including Ms. Ng Wei Wei (CEO of UOB Malaysia), Puan Mahuran Saro Sariki (Senior Vice President, Group Government Engagement & Facilitation, and Women, DEI and Work Life Practices, TalentCorp Malaysia) and Ms. Luna Soh (Senior Vice President, Head of EB Consulting, Online Benefits of Aon).
Through ‘Her Journey’ Chin Hin Group commits to breaking down barriers that hinder female participation, fostering a culture where women feel empowered to pursue leadership, innovation, and career growth without compromising their personal aspirations or family life.
In addition to supporting professional development, the initiative will offer wellness resources and community-building activities, ensuring that every woman at Chin Hin Group has the tools and support needed to thrive both at work and beyond.
“Creating a supportive and empowering workplace is not only the right thing to do, it is a strategic imperative for future growth. At UOB Malaysia, we’ve seen how inclusive policies, flexible career pathways, and intentional leadership help people reach their full potential. Chin Hin Group’s Her Journey initiative reflects this same belief. When women (and men) are empowered to thrive, businesses grow, families flourish, and the economy becomes stronger. Empowerment is not just about opportunity; it’s about creating real impact.,” said Ng Wei Wei, CEO of UOB Malaysia.
Puan Mahuran Saro of TalentCorp Malaysia provided a point of view from a national policy perspective, “The Government remains deeply committed to supporting women through initiatives such as the Women Career Comeback Tax Incentive and Jelajah Wanita MyWira. TalentCorp continues to champion Work-Life Sustainability, including Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA) incentives, to build stronger support systems and empower women across all levels of the workforce in companies like Chin Hin Group.”
Chiau Haw Choon, Group Managing Director of Chin Hin Group Berhad concluded, "Our vision is to cultivate a workplace where inclusivity and equal opportunity are woven into the fabric of our culture. ‘Her Journey’ is not just a programme—it is a pledge to champion the ambitions of women at every stage of their careers.”
With ‘Her Journey’, Chin Hin Group reaffirms its commitment to driving positive change and setting new benchmarks for gender equity and employee wellbeing in Malaysia’s corporate landscape.
